Alina Belyagina

Alina Belyagina works between dance and theatre with extensive use of video and text. Born in Ukraine, based in Munich.
Since 2019 Alina has presented her work at national and international festivals, mainly at the Want to Dance Taipei, Laos Contemporary Dance Festival, Open Look
Festival Saint-Petersburg, Tanzwerkstatt Europa Munich, Euro-Scene Leipzig, International Solo Tanz Theater Stuttgart, Process/Talk Tel-Aviv Suzanne Dellal, Soar Festival Kristiansand, Sommerwerft Frankfurt, Arena Festival Erlangen, On Bodies Cyprus and resident at V-A-C foundation, in the Production Residency Program.
Her belief in collective support and resource-sharing is evident in her advocacy for the dance community. Her work not only delves into the physicality of movement but also engages with the inherent ways in which dance generates and communicates knowledge.This approach involves a deep exploration of the intersection between the existential and knowledge aspects of dance. By intertwining the corporeal and the cognitive, she creates a space for dance that is not only aesthetically compelling but also intellectually resonant.
After moving to Germany she started her choreographic career by participating in Soltunatu Tantsu Lava The PREMIERE`17 residency in Tallinn and then started working with Freies Theater München.Since 2022 she is supported by Kulturreferat München.
As a dancer, Alina worked with, among others, United-C, Hege Haagenrud, Isabelle Schad, Claudia Castellucci, Helena Waldmann, Alexandra Pirici
Alina's performance “The image we combat with” was selected by the Young Arctic Artist'21 and supported by the Ministry of Education and Culture Finland.. Alina's performance “Hold me, hold me, hold” was produced by V-A-C Foundation and supported by the Chanel Cultural Fund. Dance Atelier Reykjavik. In 2018 she was a guest choreographer at the Gesher Theater Tel Aviv.
