Sabine Karb
Dancer, Choreographer
Sabine Karb received her dance training at the Iwanson School in Munich, combined with several-month dance stays abroad. Since then, she has worked as a dancer and choreographer.
In her projects, she examines everyday events in different locations, with the focus always on contemporary movement language. Her works, which incorporate radio play layers, sound collages, and zeittypical language material, are characterized by an open perspective on the absurdities of our performance society and its physical effects on people.
"Ich war das nicht!" (funded by the City of Munich 2020) is her first work for young audiences and has been touring through cities and schools since 2022.
As a curator, she has been realizing residences for contemporary dance at Schloss Blumenthal since 2022.
The premiere of "Fast Fashion" (funded production with amateurs by the City of Munich) took place in 2024.
Already during her training, she taught contemporary dance in the Munich area. From 2001 to 2011, she worked project-based at the Theaterakademie August Everding in the Musical program as a lecturer for contemporary dance, jazz dance, solo interpretation, and competition preparation. Since 2011, she has also been active at schools, developing dance projects with children and young people up to stage readiness. Sabine Karb is a member of the team at Focus Tanz / Tanz und Schule e.V.
