Stephanie Felber (choreographer & videographer) develops multimedia, participative and site-specific productions in which she questions viewing habits, the classical space of the theater and the role of the audience.
"My productions interweave visual and performing arts and are characterized by a sensitivity for atmospheres and video-choreographic elaborations of tableau vivants (living images). I research in the intermediate traces of created and compositionally processed thoughts and materials, which are partly installative and partly performative. Within the framework of a participatory setting, I pursue a "methodology of invitations". "
Various perceptual possibilities are made tangible through physical, spatial and acoustic fine-tuning. Her approach is interdisciplinary and participatory.
Her choreographic works are supported by the Cultural Department of the City of Munich, the Bavarian State Association for Contemporary Dance (BLZT) with funds from the Bavarian State Ministry of Science and the Arts, the Goethe-Institut, the Eesti Kultuurkapitali and Tartu Culture Department, as well as the NATIONAL PERFORMANCE NETWORK - STEPPING OUT (funded by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media as part of the NEUSTART KULTUR.
