Susanne Schneider

Dancer, dance educator, dance lecturer

Based in Munich, Susanne works as a dancer, dance educator, researcher, dramaturge, choreographer, and Pilates/personal trainer. Her movement practice draws on somatic and movement approaches such as Countertechnique, Release Technique, Acrobatics, Breakdance, BMC, Feldenkrais, Ideokinesis, and Klein Technique. She combines a passion for physical intensity with an interest in anatomically informed movement.

Through formats like Physical Introduction, she creates sensory access points for audiences before performances. Her teaching ranges from professional dance training to workshops and school projects, with a focus on kinesthetic empathy and the connection between artistic research and education.

Her recent work includes Bewegte Anatomie, an educational dance workshop developed for schools, and the co-creation of Viva Wasser (2024), a dance performance for babies that premiered at Schauburg München.

After beginning her dance training in Barcelona in 2007, Susanne earned a BA in Dance from HfMT Cologne and later completed an MA in Contemporary Dance Education at HfMDK Frankfurt, graduating with a thesis on kinesthetic empathy. Since 2013, she has collaborated closely with CocoonDance and worked as a freelance artist across contemporary dance, new circus, and visual arts.
