Helga Seewann
Dance Performer, Mourning Dancer
With her own projects, she has worked as a performer and choreographer on and off stage since 1984. For "Theater Unbegrenzt," a theater for people with disabilities, she is responsible for dance. As a mourning dancer, she contributes to funeral and memorial services through individual dance performances. Helga Seewann was a co-organizer of the "westendstudios." Within this framework, dance performances by her took place at various locations, including a memorial dance at St. Paul in honor of Theodoros Boulgarides. Since 1981, she has taught in her own studio. From 1988–2009, she was a movement teacher at the Ruth von Zerboni Acting School. From 1984–2001, she led movement theatre and dance improvisation courses in southern Italy.
Her training began with classical ballet, followed by a pedagogical training with a TU degree. Through various dance techniques such as Modern, Graham, Flamenco, Mime Corporel, and Butoh, she developed her form of contemporary expressive dance. Her work follows the motto: Create spaces, soften boundaries, show possibilities, preserve diversity, take responsibility.
